Take your number with you when you change

When you change your mobile operator or SIM card, you always get a new number. However, in most cases, you also have the option to take your old phone number with you. However, you need to consider some points.

1. When you change your provider, you have a legal right to take your phone number with you. However, this does not apply if you only change the contract or the tariff with the same provider.
2. If you therefore want to take the phone number with you, first ask your provider whether this is also possible when changing contracts. In most cases, it is no problem.
3. Be aware that many mobile operators charge a fee for taking the phone number, both when changing providers and when changing contracts.
4. Inform your new and old mobile provider when you change that you want to take your phone number and let you know how much this process will cost.
5. In some cases, you can also take the new number into the new contract before the end of the contract. But again, you must bear the cost of the old contract until it expires.
