Which PlayStation 4: Versions at a glance
The first PlayStation 4 launched in 2013 is not Sony's only version of the gaming console. In addition to some minor updates to the base model, there are now PlayStation 4 Pro and Slim versions. It's easy to lose track of them.
Which PlayStation 4: Models still in production
When it comes to the model versions of the PlayStation 4, a distinction must be made between models that are still in production and discontinued models. Below is the list of PS4 versions that are still in production and on sale:- The PlayStation 4 Pro with model number CUH-72xx is the second edition of the PS4 Pro and has been on sale since November 2017. In addition to a graphics processor twice as powerful, it offers 4K resolution and supports HDR technology for better colors. It is only available for purchase with one terabyte of storage.
- The PlayStation 4 Slim is the flattened version of the PlayStation 4. It has weaker components and does not support 4K or HDR, but it runs much quieter and cooler than its big brother and consumes less power. Another feature is a faster WiFi connection. The PS4 Slim is available with 500 gigabytes (model number CUH-22xxA) or one terabyte (model number CUH-22xxB).
