Linux: View Hardware - Penguin PC Components
In general, you should know what hardware is installed in your PC. With this information, you can often find a solution to a problem with the computer faster. It is also possible under Linux that you can display which hardware the PC has. The best way to do this is to use HardInfo.
How can you view the hardware under Linux?
With HardInfo, a very helpful tool, you can view all hardware components of your Linux PC without any problems. However, to do this, you first need to install the tool.- To install HardInfo on Linux, first open a terminal. To do this, simply press "Ctrl + T".
- Now type the command "sudo apt-get install hardinfo" and enter "J" to confirm the request.
- Once the package has been successfully installed, you can start HardInfo by simply typing "hardinfo" in the terminal window.
- Now click on "Computer" on the left side. You get a useful overview of all the components installed in the PC.
- If you click on the individual items under "Device", you will once again get additional information about the individual hardware components such as temperature and performance.
- Under Network you will see various information about your network and the network card.
- If you want to create a complete report about your system, so you can give another person an accurate statement about what parts are installed in your PC, just click "Create Report" at the top of the bar.
