iPhone X: Forgot Apple ID - what you can do

You need the Apple ID on your iPhone, for example to buy apps from the Store. If you have forgotten the account information, there are several ways you can reset it. Normally, the reset even works directly from your iPhone X.

Forgetting your Apple ID - here's how to find it out

Having forgotten your Apple ID, you can easily find it out again.

1. Start the "Settings" app.
2. Tap on your name at the top.
3. Then select the menu item "Name, Phone Numbers, Email".
4. In "Reachable at" you will find your Apple ID.

You can also find out your Apple ID via the browser. To do this, simply call up the iCloud.com website. Click there on "Forgot Apple ID or password" and then on "Search for it here". Enter your first and last name as well as your e-mail address and confirm your entry by clicking "Continue". You will then receive a message with your Apple ID.

If you have forgotten your password in addition to your Apple ID, you can set a new one in the iPhone's settings.To reset your password, follow these steps:

1. Open the "Settings" app on your iPhone X.
2. Tippen Sie ganz oben auf Ihren Namen und anschließend auf „Passwort & Sicherheit“.
3. Wählen Sie dort die Option „Passwort ändern“.
4. Geben Sie nun den Code ein, den Sie auch zum Entsperren des iPhones benutzen.
5. Legen Sie ein neues Passwort fest und bestätigen Sie die Eingabe.
