Android 11: Set home screen - how to do it

The home screen is the page that is automatically displayed when you unlock your Android 11 smartphone. Often, the home screen consists of multiple pages, especially if you have many apps installed. You can specify which of these pages you want to use as your home screen.

How to set your home screen on Android 11

Pressing the home button will take you to the homescreen page that is set as your home screen. By default, this is the first page of the homescreen pages. As you are used to from previous Android versions, you can also customize which of the various homescreen pages you want to use as the home screen yourself in Android 11.
  1. Tap your finger on a free space on the homescreen until the edit mode opens.
  2. Now swipe to switch to the homescreen page you want to use as your home screen.
  3. Tap the house icon above the homescreen page to set the current page as your home screen.
  4. Tap a free space again to exit Edit mode.
The new home screen you set will be applied immediately. You can change your selection again at any time. Besides the home screen, you can also customize the backgrounds, widgets, and home screen behavior according to your preferences. Additionally, you can organize apps and other shortcuts that are on the homescreen into folders. This way you save space and it's easier to keep track of everything.
