Remove Google search bar from Android home screen
The Google search bar, which you can see right on your Android home screen, is a handy and quick way to search for specific terms on Google. Although this feature is useful, it can also be annoying as it can also be clicked on by accident.
Android: How to remove the Google search bar from your home screen
The Google search bar can be removed in several ways.- Open the home screen by putting the smartphone in standby mode and then turning it back on directly.
- Now you will see the Google search bar. Tap it with your finger and hold it there until a menu appears.
- Now tap "Remove from Start" so that the search bar is removed.
- You also have the option to disable the entire Google search function. This will also remove the bar.
- To do this, go to Settings by opening the Settings app. Tap "Apps" or "Application Manager" here.
- Open Google and click "Disable" here. This will completely disable the Google search function and also remove the search bar from the home screen.
- If you want to restore the search bar, keep your finger pressed on the home screen. You need at least an area of 4 x 1 boxes. A menu with options will appear. Select widgets here and then the Google search bar.
