In summer 2019, Threema for Android got the update to version 4.0. For users, this means:

• Threema now relies on OpenStreetMap instead of Google Maps for location purposes.
• If your smartphone supports biometric unlocking, this is now also possible with Threema (fingerprint and face).
• In the chat there is now a quote function.
• Chats can be archived without being deleted.
• The recording of voice messages can be paused.

These new features have been embedded in a new look. Threema looks from version 4.0 more modern and fresh than before, the navigation has been improved in this move, the comfort has increased.
