Mac OS Update: Bring your device up to date

Updates are released regularly for most devices. This makes the system more stable, more powerful and, above all, more secure. To make sure that all known security holes are also closed, you need to install the updates. Whether there is a new update for Mac OS, you can find out in the settings.

Find and install Mac OS updates

With regular updates, it is ensured that known security gaps are closed. In addition, new features can be added and bugs can be fixed. This makes the system more stable and powerful. If you want to use your operating system Mac OS without any problems, then it is important to install the updates. You can check if there is a new update in the preferences.
  1. Click on the Apple icon on your Mac. Then select the "System Preferences" option.
  2. Here you will find the "Software Update" entry. Now the system checks for new updates.
  3. If an update is found, the "Update now" button is now displayed. The update is then updated. Would you like to know which update it is, click on "More information". Here it is listed what is changed by the update. Here you have the option to install only certain updates.
  4. If no update is available, you will be shown that the system is up to date. Alternatively, you can also enable the option "Update my Mac automatically".
