The HomePod is a smart speaker from Apple. With it, you can access the Siri voice assistant and use voice commands to control other devices or apps from your smartphone. In order to use the speaker as usual, it is important to download updates regularly.

How to update the HomePod

If you want to control apps by voice command, the voice assistant Siri is available. With the smart speaker from Apple, you can also access Siri. Thus, it is possible to control lighting systems, other speakers or your music via voice commands. To avoid problems, it is important to regularly check for new updates and install them.

1. Normally, software updates of the HomePod are installed automatically, as long as it is connected to the Internet. Alternatively, you can perform the update manually.
2. Go to the Home app on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. Make sure that the corresponding device is up to date.
3. Tap on the upper left corner and select "Home". Dabei handelt es sich um das „Haus“-Icon in der App.
4. Wählen Sie nun die Option „Softwareupdate“. Anschließend wird überprüft, ob ein neues Update vorliegt. Ist dies der Fall, können Sie auf die Schaltfläche „Installieren“ klicken.
5. Auch über Ihren Mac können Sie das Update installieren. Hierfür müssen Sie in der Home-App auf „Bearbeiten“ > „Zuhause bearbeiten“ > „Softwareupdate“ gehen.
