Using WhatsApp with Siri - how the voice assistant helps

The voice assistant Siri is already integrated in most Apple devices. With the Apple Home Pod, you can also control various systems by voice command. Would you like to send messages with Siri via WhatsApp or have them read to you, this is also possible. Some settings are necessary beforehand.

How to use WhatsApp with the voice assistant Siri

WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging apps for smartphones. If you want to control the functions of the app with the voice assistant Siri, this is possible, but you need at least iOS 10 for this. The function has the advantage that you can send messages via WhatsApp using a voice command. Before you can use the function with Siri, it is necessary to unlock it first.
  1. Go to the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Now select the option "Siri & Search" here. Here you will find the menu item "WhatsApp".
  3. Now activate the item "Use with Siri". The function is now active and can now be used.
  4. After that, open Siri by voice command, if this is enabled, or via the corresponding option.
  5. Now say "Send a WhatsApp message to" and mention the name of the contact.
  6. After that, you still have to specify the text you want to send to the contact.
  7. Siri wants another confirmation before sending the message. Say "Yes" if the message and the contact are correct. After that the message will be sent.
