Install Steam - how it works

Steam is a gaming platform that you can use directly in your browser or as a client on your computer. To use Steam offline, it is necessary to install the program beforehand. How this works, we explain step by step.

So install Steam on your computer

If you want to use your Steam games not only online, but also on your computer, an installation of the Steam client is necessary. To successfully install Steam with all program components on your computer, you need about 1 GB of free space on the device.

1. To start the installation, please first download the Steam installation file from the Steam website.
2. Then double-click on the file "SteamSetup.exe" and confirm the prompts with "Yes" and "Next".
3. Set a language for the use of Steam and click "Next" again. If necessary, you can also specify an alternative location for the Steam client at this point.
4. Finally, click "Install" to start the process and click "Finish" after successful installation.
