Lock Play Store: Making the marketplace childproof

The Google Play Store is used to make purchases and downloads on the Android smartphone. Quickly, an expensive app can be purchased or a subscription can be taken out by unknowingly using it. For this reason, you should block the Play Store for the child's smartphone.

Block Play Store - how it works

Through the optimal configuration, the Play Store can be made child-friendly. Purchases must be confirmed by a password and not all content is displayed.
  1. To begin, go to the settings of your smartphone to activate a few important options in advance.
  2. Navigate to "Security" and uncheck "Apps from unknown origin".
  3. Also check the box "Verify apps".
  4. These settings at least prevent malicious apps from being downloaded.
  5. Now go to the Play Store and open the settings there as well.
  6. Navigate to "User Controls" and then "Content Filters".
