Valheim: Building reinforced crates - how it works

Storage space is quickly becoming a scarce commodity in Valheim, as the crates only have a limited number of slots. Reinforced crates are a definite step up, and we explain what it takes to build them.

Space is everything: Reinforced crates mean almost double the storage space.

You can build normal crates early on, as no advanced materials are needed. However, with ten slots, the cost fills up quickly and this can lead to space problems.

Valheim: Reinforced crates provide much more storage space

Reinforced crates are therefore an important upgrade.
  • Unlocking them requires iron. This can be found in the swamp area.
  • For the construction of a reinforced crate 10 precious wood and 2 iron are necessary.
  • Each reinforced crate offers 18 slots, which is almost a doubling compared to the normal crates.
For the order in your base, the reinforced crates are thus almost indispensable, as you collect more and more items in the course of the game. Much earlier, by the way, you can also build carts and thus use a large, mobile storage space.
