Valheim: Building a bow and arrow - that's why it's so important

Among the many tools and weapons you can craft in Valheim, bows and arrows are available relatively early on and are especially important. We explain what you need to build them and why you'll benefit from them.

From a distance: you can use the bow to your advantage.

With an axe or club, you'll be ready for the rough stuff in your first hours in Valheim. However, this does not mean that there is not still potential for optimization.

Valheim: Bow and arrow early manufacturable

Because a bow opens up a whole new range of possibilities for you. The advantage is obvious: as a ranged weapon, it allows you to hunt shy creatures like deer, which is hardly possible with an axe.You can also tactically exploit the distance in combat, for example by moving to ledges or shooting through windows. Especially with large, strong opponents such as trolls, the bow is worth its weight in gold.The production works as follows:

• For a bow you need 10 wood and 8 leather shards.
• Make a stack of 20 wooden arrows from 8 wood each. It is advisable to build directly 40, 60 or 80 arrows.

The production is done at the workbench. This is only the entry levels, as you can build even better arrows with feathers and resin - even fire arrows that set the opponent on fire are possible early.
