Some four years after its somewhat bumpy release, No Man's Sky is doing better than ever. The Origins update, which went live in September 2020, now brings the next step.

No Man's Sky: Origins adds more variety

To date, one of the criticisms of No Man's Sky is that the procedurally generated game world can seem a bit repetitive after a certain point. This is where the Origins update at least partially intervenes:

• There are now more planets in the existing solar systems. In total, you can thus explore millions of new worlds.
• Some solar systems consist of two or three stars.
• On the planets, the landscapes are now much more varied and impressive from. This concerns both the atmospheric conditions and the life forms.
• The new diversity in flora and fauna is striking. This also provides a fresh feeling in terms of color. New alien species contribute to the adventure character.
• In the same move, there are new, colossal buildings to discover. These also invite you to explore, be it for records, treasures or directions to ruins.
• In addition, the interface has been revised.
• Landschaftlich stand out especially the new volcanoes. Also impressive are the new firestorms, tornadoes, lightning or impacting meteors.
• Thanks to the improvement of teleporters, you can now better see where you are traveling.
• NPC traders you can now also encounter randomly on planets.

Together with the technical improvements such as a higher level of detail, Origins thus offers a proud list of innovations. For veterans who haven't started the game in a while, now might be the right time to make a comeback.
