What does Instant-Ink mean for printers?

If you have bought a new Hewlett Packard brand printer, it is probably Instant-Ink capable. If you don't know what exactly Instant-Ink is, we'll give you an overview of how it works and show you how to sign up for Instant-Ink.

How Instant Ink works on printers from HP

Instant Ink is a service offered by HP. If you have an Instant Ink-enabled printer, you can sign up for Instant Ink and regularly receive new printer cartridges based on your printing habits. With Instant-Ink, the current ink level of your cartridges is automatically sent from the printer to HP, and when it's low, you'll get a replacement cartridge shipped to your home. However, to use Instant-Ink for your printer, registration is required beforehand.
  1. To register, go to "instantink.hpconnected.com" and click "Register Now".
  2. Select your printer from the list and choose an Instant-Ink plan.
  3. Enter all the required information to create an HP Connected account, click "Register" and follow the further instructions to receive an authorization code.
  4. Finally, you still need to enter your billing and shipping information and confirm it by clicking "Register".

Printer: These costs apply when using Instant-Ink

There are five different tariffs to choose from when using Instant-Ink. In addition to the free plan for 15 pages per month, there are four paid plans. The monthly prices of the tariffs vary between 2.99 and 19.99 euros and include a different contingent of pages. Depending on which tariff you choose, you can thus print between 50 and 700 pages per month.
