Polaroid format - this size instant pictures

While Polaroid photos were gone for a long time, instant cameras and their selfie-producing images are now making a comeback. Well-known brands such as Polaroid and Fujifilm offer several cameras for purchase, allowing you to take photos in various large and small formats.

Polaroid photos come in these different formats

What format your Polaroid photos come in depends on the camera you use to take them. If you use a camera from the Fujifilm Instax range, the size varies from 6.3 x 4.6 cm if you use the Mini format to 9.9 x 6.2 cm if the Wide format is used. If you use a Polaroid 600 or Polaroid SX-70, the picture size without frame is 7.9 x 7.7 cm. To get larger Polaroid pictures, it is suitable to use the Polaroid Image or Spectra format, respectively, where the pictures without frames are 9.1 x 7.2 cm.

These are the best Polaroid cameras

In addition to the format, other factors are important when looking for a Polaroid camera. For example, one key difference between the cameras is that Polaroid uses a digital camera with a built-in printer, while Fujifilm uses a self-developing film.
  1. If you want to buy a Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 with matching film, you'll pay around 59 euros for the camera itself and 14 euros for a 10-sheet film. The Fujifilm Instax Wide 600 is again available from 99 euros.
  2. The entry-level model from Polaroid, the Polaroid Snap, is with a price of about 130 euros significantly more expensive than the models from Fujifilm. However, the camera has the advantage that all photos are also stored digitally and the individual prints are cheaper at 0.60 euros.
