Resetting Android 11 - how to do the reset

If you have recurring problems or if you want to sell your Android 11 smartphone, it is advisable to perform a reset. This also works in the current version of Android either via the system settings or using the recovery mode.

How to reset your Android 11 smartphone

As you are also used to from previous Android versions, you can reset your smartphone in Android 11 directly via the device settings. Note that the reset will delete all data on the smartphone in addition to the settings. Therefore, create a backup of your data beforehand so that they are not lost.
  1. Open the settings and tap on the menu item "System".
  2. Now call up the additional settings of the smartphone via "Advanced".
  3. Select "Reset options" there.
  4. Scroll down and tap on the option "Delete all data".
  5. Enter your device PIN as confirmation. Only when you have entered this, the smartphone will be reset.
In addition to the reset via the device settings, you can also reset your smartphone via the recovery mode. To do this, first turn off the device. Then press the power button and the volume up button simultaneously until the manufacturer's logo appears on the display. You will then get to the boot menu. Use the Volume up and Volume down keys to navigate to the menu item "wipe data/factory reset". Confirm the selection by pressing the power button. The smartphone is then reset to its original settings. Finally, restart the device via "reboot system now" and set it up again.
