Outlook: import contacts - this option is available

Outlook is a free email program from Microsoft. You can use the app to access your email via smartphone. If you want to import your contacts into Outlook, the program provides you with an import/export wizard. With this you can import contacts via a CSV file.

How to import your contacts into Outlook

If you want to switch to the Outlook e-mail program, you can add your contacts using the Import/Export wizard. Contacts usually exist in a CSV file on your computer. In some cases, you may need to use your previous email program to export the contacts to a CSV file. Once you have the CSV file, you can launch Outlook. The steps for Outlook 2013 and 2016 are explained below, for older versions the instructions differ only in the names of the buttons.

1. In Outlook, click "File" in the menu at the top.
2. Click the "Open and export" button in the next selection.
3. Anschließend wählen Sie die Option „Importieren/Exportieren“ aus.
4. Nun startet der Assistent und führt Sie durch den Import der Kontakte.
5. Klicken Sie auf „Aus anderen Programmen oder Dateien importieren“ und bestätigen Sie mit „Weiter“.
6. Im nächsten Feld wählen Sie „Durch Trennzeichen getrennte Werte“ aus. Klicken Sie erneut auf „Weiter“.
7. Über den Button „Durchsuchen“ wählen Sie die CSV-Datei auf Ihrem Computer aus.
8. Nun müssen Sie auswählen, wie Outlook mit doppelten Kontakten umgehen soll. Wählen Sie die gewünschte Option aus und bestätigen Sie mit „Weiter“.
9. Wählen Sie den Zielordner „Kontakte“ und bestätigen Sie abschließend mit „Fertig stellen“.
