Tethering involves sharing a smartphone's mobile data connection and sharing it with other devices. This sets up a personal hotspot on the smartphone that other devices can connect to. Tethering is particularly useful if you want to surf the Internet on the go with devices that do not have their own Internet connection, such as a WLAN tablet. To use tethering, there are several options on Android:- Wireless mobile data sharing is possible via WLAN hotspot. To do this, navigate on your Android smartphone to "Settings" > "Network & Internet" > "Hotspot and Tethering" and select the option "WLAN hotspot".
- Activate the WLAN hotspot first and then set a name and password for WLAN tethering.
- Alternatively, tethering via Bluetooth is also possible on Android devices. To do this, you must under "Settings" > "Network & Internet" > "Hotspot and Tethering" instead enable the option "Bluetooth tethering".
