What is Bluetooth tethering

If you don't have WLAN for your laptop at the moment, you can use your smartphone as a hotspot. The mobile data connection will be shared and you can share it with your laptop. This shared use of the Internet connection is called tethering. In Bluetooth tethering, they first pair the two devices via Bluetooth.
  1. First, you need to enable Bluetooth on both devices. Then pair your laptop with the smartphone.
  2. Now you need to adjust the settings on your laptop so that this establishes the network connection via Bluetooth. The procedure depends on your operating system used and the device.
  3. On the smartphone, now go to "Settings" and then "Network & Internet".
  4. In the next step, select the menu item "Hotspot and Tethering".
  5. Here you finally select the item "Bluetooth Tethering". Then the connection is set up as desired via Bluetooth. Note here, however, that the range of Bluetooth is limited. How large the range depends on the installed Bluetooth chip.
