AirPods can be stolen quite quickly and easily. Since the headphones are not connected to a cable but are free in the ear, they are vulnerable to falling out or being stolen. In case of theft, you should act quickly to get your AirPods back.

AirPods stolen: Anti-theft device available?

The headphones do not have a direct anti-theft device. However, with the help of a special app, the earbuds can be located at a short distance.

1. The app "Where is?" helps you to find your AirPods again. To do this, the app must be installed on the iPhone with which you use the AirPods together.
2. In short range, the headphones can be located using the app and are even displayed at the last active location.
3. With "Where is?" are located via iCloud all devices connected to the same Apple ID and displayed on a map.
4. Should the headphones be located separately from each other, only the location of one plug is always shown.

1. Should you have just noticed the theft or at least suspect it, you can use the app to play a sound on the headphones.
