The iCloud lock is actually there to secure your smartphone in case of theft. This is because the lock means that the user has no way to use the iPhone, nor can they access any sensitive data. When buying a used iPhone, however, this lock is often still active.

It is not uncommon that a used iPhone is bought on eBay and only afterwards it becomes apparent that the smartphone was originally stolen and is unusable.

1. With a little luck you can still bypass the lock.
2. To do this, first tap the home button and then "Select WLAN".
3. Select the info icon to the right of the WLAN name.
4. In the new window, now remove the DNS server already entered and enter a new DNS.

6. Tap then on "Back" and further on "Help with activation".
7. Sollten Sie die Meldung „Sie sind erfolgreich mit dem Server verbunden“ bekommen, können Sie die Sperre nun ohne Passwort entfernen.
8. Selbstverständlich ist das nur eine Notlösung und kann nicht auf Dauer so beibehalten werden.
9. Außerdem ist beim erneuten Verkauf des Smartphone das Problem weiterhin bestehend und Sie machen sich durch einen Täuschungsversuch strafbar.
