Google Stadia: Set and change avatar - how it works

With the avatar your Stadia profile gets another personal feature besides the name and the ID. Our guide explains where to find the settings for it, for example to change the image.

For the time being only off the shelf: individual avatars should be possible at Stadia "soon".

Not for all players the avatar of the gaming account is equally important. Included is the option on most platforms, Google Stadia included.

Whether in the browser or in the app, you will find the options for the avatar in the "Stadia settings" under "Stadia name and avatar".

• There you simply select one of the ready-made avatars by clicking on it.
• You can make the change as often as you like.
• It is noticeable that there is no option to use an individual own image as an avatar - a thing that is explicitly requested by many players. The answer to this: Google has already announced that custom avatars will soon be possible, but there is no fixed date for this.

Till then, it is therefore to make do with the still quite manageable selection of avatars.
