Delete PS4 account - how it works

You need a PSN account for many games on the PlayStation 4. This is because it is the only way that you can use the multiplayer online options. However, if you no longer want to use your account, you have the option to delete it.

This is what you should know before deleting your PS4 account

Before you make this decision, you should know the consequences. Because PlayStation is, compared to other providers, much less accommodating.

• You can not use your former online ID if you want to create an account for the Playstation again. You must create a new ID.
• Your payment obligations remain. You have the option of subscriptions in the PSN store. The fact that you delete your PS4 account does not release you from the payment obligations.
• All content that you have purchased from the Playstation Store is irretrievably deleted. You will not have access to it even if you create a new account.
• Playstation does not allow you to transfer your purchased games or game saves to a new account.
• Furthermore, Playstation does not offer refunds for content. Not even for those you have not used.
• Also, all your game saves and game progress that you have saved through your account will be removed.

How to delete your account anyway

If leaving your account is not an option for you, you can delete the account. Since there is no manual way, you will have to contact the Sony Customer Center. Contact a representative at 0800/070664 and give them your login ID as well as the online ID so that your account can be closed. However, a final deletion will not take place.
