Word: Insert date - this is how fast it is via shortcut

Key combinations enable particularly fast Word functionalities. This is also evident when you want to insert the current date. We show which keys are important.

Three keys, one date: Thanks to key combinations you can insert the date without detours.

The classic way to insert the date is via the functions of "Date and Time" in the "Insert" tab.

Hereby many formats are available to you, which means exact setting options. Sometimes, however, these are not necessary at all, instead you just want to insert a date as quickly as possible.In this case, a key combination is particularly handy:

1. Click in the document at the point where the date should appear.
2. Press "Shift" + "Alt" + "D".

The date now appears automatically and without further queries or options. It is displayed in the standard format and based on the system time of your computer - and this is quite sufficient for most cases.
