Start Snipping Tool via keyboard shortcut

The Snipping Tool is pre-installed with every Windows version and is therefore part of the basic equipment of the operating system. With the tool you cut out a certain area of your screen and save it as a screenshot. You can also quickly launch the Snipping Tool using a keyboard shortcut.

How to launch Snipping Tool by shortcut

Snipping Tool allows you to specify a rectangular area on your screen that will be saved as a screenshot on your computer. Optionally, you can also capture the entire screen. You can find the Snipping Tool via the search function of your operating system. However, if you want to quickly save something, you can also launch the tool using a keyboard shortcut.

1. Open the Start menu on your computer.
2. Then go to "Windows Accessories" and right-click on the "Snipping Tool" button.
3. Then press "More" and "Open Location".
4. After Windows Explorer opens, right-click the "Snipping Tool" there again.
5. Klicken Sie auf die Option „Eigenschaften“ und anschließend unter „Verknüpfung“ auf „Tastenkombination“.
6. Nun können Sie eine Tastenkombination Ihrer Wahl eingeben, mit der Sie das Tool öffnen.
7. Sobald Sie sich für eine Kombination entschieden haben, klicken Sie auf „OK,“ um diese Änderung abzuspeichern.
8. Sie können das Snipping Tool jetzt mit der gewählten Tastenkombination jederzeit aufrufen.
