The IP address can be found out quite easily on the iPhone. Furthermore, you can also change the number, which is similar to a fingerprint on the Internet, on your smartphone by having the router assign you a new IP.

All about IP address on iPhone

If you want to identify a device such as a smartphone, a PC or a printer in a local network, you can do this, for example, with the IP address. If you connect your iPhone to your WLAN router, it will automatically be assigned such an IP. This can then be read out via the interface of the router, but also quite simply on the iPhone itself.

1. First tap on "Settings" on your iPhone.
2. You will directly find the menu "WLAN". Here you can see the current WLAN connection with your local network or even a hotspot, if you are currently on the road.
3. Tap behind the entry of your network on the i icon.
4. In this overview, you can now read your IP address on the iPhone. In addition, you can also see the router IP and DNS address.

Get a new IP address

If you want to generate a new IP address for your iPhone, you can change it via the WLAN menu on the device. Das kann manchmal hilfreich sein, wenn Sie keine Verbindung zum WLAN aufbauen können.
