There are two forms of satellite dishes. You are probably familiar with the classic variety, as it has been used for a long time and works with a focused radiation pickup. The flat antenna, on the other hand, works with interference. This makes the setup a bit trickier.

With a flat antenna you will receive a potentially better picture and far more channels than with a conventional antenna. This is because a flat antenna picks up signals via interference, resulting in a larger area. The difference with the classic satellite dish is that it is based on a focus. The signal is placed on a central point and forwarded from there. This results in a smaller area. This means that the installation of a conventional satellite dish is easier. The flat antenna only works if it hits the waves to be interfered with exactly. Otherwise you will not get a picture. However, if you are lucky, then it is a great progress compared to the satellite dish.

What do you need to know about the flat antenna?

• It works completely without a central point.
• The flat antenna picks up interference and converts it. For this, however, the antenna must stand perfectly.
• Because of the heavy installation, this antenna is only suitable for professionals. For less experienced installers flat antenna is not recommended.
