Windows 10 has the typical Windows theme after installation. If you do not like the look of your system, you have numerous options to customize the design. If you want to add or delete new wallpapers, you first need to know where the location is.

How to find the location of your Windows 10 wallpapers

If you want to customize the desktop of your Windows 10 system, you can change the color of your windows, for example. You can also customize the wallpaper. Here, you already have some preset images at your disposal. If you want to delete some images or add new ones, you need the location of the images.
  1. First press the key combination "Windows key" + "R".
  2. Then enter the path "C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper" in the upper text box and press Enter.
  3. This is the default location for backgrounds.
  4. If you have downloaded and used another image from the Internet, then they are usually stored in the previously selected location. This can be anywhere on your hard drive. If you have not changed the location, they are placed by default in the download folder.
  5. The currently set wallpaper can be found in another location. For this you need the path "C:\Users\USER\Appdata\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\". Replace USER with your username that you use on the computer.
  6. You can also find out the location of your default wallpaper via the registry, but you should not make any changes to it.
