Valheim: Level system explained - this is the system

Every survival game has some kind of level system. This is also true for Valheim, although with some peculiarities. Our guide explains what the system looks like in the surprise hit of the year.

Skill by skill: In Valheim, you get better and better by doing specific activities.

Even weeks after its release, Valheim's success knows hardly any bounds. The level system contributes to this for certain reasons.

Valheim: This is the level system

Because in Valheim there are levels, but no superior character level. Skill trees are also in vain.
  • Instead, the individual skills, which are all available from the beginning, are improved through activity alone.
  • Higher values in skills such as "Sneaking" or "Swimming" you get consequently only through the repeated exercise of these activities. In "Archery" you get better by using a bow and arrow. In this way, progress feels logically traceable and can also be planned exactly.
  • In addition, there is neither a skill tree nor blueprints for new items. As soon as you add an item that can be used to build something to your inventory once, those products are unlocked.
Thanks to this system, exploring in Valheim is especially fun, because with every new item you find, there is a chance that you will unlock and craft more items.
