Valheim: Comfort level explained - how to increase it

Once you build your first base and set up a campfire there, you will receive a recovery bonus. In this context, the comfort level system is important. We explain it.

Comfort provides rest: you can still increase the duration of the rested buff.

The recovery bonus is a buff called Rested, which increases your regeneration rate on health and stamina.

Valheim: Comfort level increases duration of Rested buff

The strength of this buff does not change with a higher comfort level. The duration, however, does:
  • When you receive the buff through the Resting state, it has a base duration of seven minutes.
  • For each additional comfort level, the duration increases by one minute. This means, for example, that the buff with comfort level 9 lasts a total of 16 minutes (7 + 9).
  • Maximum comfort level of 17 is possible. This is done by building various items in your base.
While you get the first increases early with objects such as the campfire and a bed, you need correspondingly advanced items for the high levels. These include, for example, the dragon bed, chairs, rugs, banners and the throne. In this way, a magnificent decoration is not only a visual matter, but also has a positive effect on the survivability of your character.
