How to set up Thunderbird

Thunderbird is a free and cross-platform service for managing news feeds, chats and emails. Thunderbird is free to use and can be used on both Mac and computers running Windows or Linux as their operating system. To use Thunderbird, first download the application from "thunderbird.com". Then set up an email account by entering your email provider's email address, username and password.

Thunderbird: How to write a new email

Once you have set up your Thunderbird account, you can not only manage the emails that are already in your inbox, but also write and send new emails.
  1. To compose a new email, first please click the "Compose" button on the Thunderbird toolbar. Thereupon opens a new window for composing a message.
  2. Enter there next to the field "To" the recipient or recipients of your message and set in the line "Subject" the subject of your email.
  3. Now you can enter your message in the text field below, if necessary, adjust with the word processing functions and send the finished email by clicking "Send".
