The Sims 4: Stop aging - how it works

The aging process is part of life and is therefore also simulated in The Sims 4 Who does not like it, has the option to turn off the aging. Depending on whether you want to stop the aging of your own Sims or the NPC Sims, the procedure is different. Our guide shows how it works.

Always young Sims: aging is realistic - but it doesn't have to be.

The Sims 4: aging a matter of game options

The aging can be set in the game options. You can find it by first loading the save state and then pressing the "ESC" key. In the pause menu, select the "Game Options" entry. Select the "Gameplay" option on the left side. It is practical that you can change the aging at any time during the running game. Thanks to this freedom, individual aging is possible entirely according to plan. In total, you have two options to choose from.
  • The first option only affects the Sim or Sims you control. Click on the drop-down menu next to the "Automatic aging (Sims played)" entry. Here you can choose between "Yes", "No" and "Active household only".
  • The second item allows you to set aging for all NPC Sims. Proceed as described in point 1. Here, however, you can not select the option "Only active household".
In both cases it is possible to turn off the aging completely. According to the motto "forever young" all Sims then always remain young and fresh or at the age at which they started. If you allow aging, you have three settings for the life span available.
