Android: Safe Mode - how to start the smartphone

When you start your Android device in safe mode -at Samsung it is called safe mode- only system relevant apps are started and not apps installed by you. This can prevent a crash right at startup and allow you to remove the corrupted app.

How to start Android in safe mode?

How to put your Android device into safe mode depends on the manufacturer. For Samsung and HTC, you proceed as follows:

1. On an HTC, you need to disable the quick start. To do this, go to the "Settings" and then further to "Quick Start" or even "Power".
2. Now turn off your smartphone completely and start it again. While doing so, hold down the Quiet button so that you bring the device into safe mode.
3. If the pin input appears, you can release the Quiet button again. That the safe mode is working properly, you should now see a notification at the bottom left of the screen.
4. On Google, Huawei and Motorola, you proceed slightly differently. Here, you simply start the device as usual after turning it off.
