Samsung Galaxy S8: Safe Mode - how to start it

As known from PCs, safe mode is also good for smartphones to detect or fix problems. Our guide shows how to start the Samsung Galaxy S8 in safe mode.

Slim and effective: in safe mode, you only have access to the essentials.

Safe mode does not have all the functions, but that is precisely the goal. Because this is the only way to bypass potential problems while maintaining core functionality.

How to boot the Galaxy S8 in safe mode

Proceed as follows:
  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Then hold down the "Power" button (on the right side of the case) and the "Quiet" button at the same time until the boot process begins.
  3. You can now release the "Power" button, the "Quiet" button must remain pressed.
  4. Wait until Android has loaded in safe mode.
There you will see that the S8 is now in firmware state. This means that all apps that were subsequently installed are not available. This way, you can narrow down problems and find out if it's due to external programs or the hardware after all.
