Discord: Delete account - how it works

If you no longer want to use your account with the chat platform Discord, you have several options to delete it. The procedure depends on whether you delete it via the Discord website or directly in the app for mobile devices.

This is how to delete your Discord account

Discord is a free chat platform that you can use for private chats, group chats and video calls. Discord is also suitable for communication during online games. If you no longer wish to use Discord, it is possible to delete your account on the platform in just a few steps.

1. To do this, please go to the Discord website and log in to your account with your user data.
2. In your Discord account, then click on the "gear icon" in the left column to open the settings and navigate to "My Account".
3. After clicking on "Edit", your username and email address will be displayed and you will need to click on the red "Delete Account" button below these details.

To delete your account directly in the Discord app

To delete your Discord account directly on a mobile device, please open the Discord app and tap on the three horizontal lines in the top left corner. This will open a navigation bar with a list of all servers and channels. Tap on the "gear icon" in the navigation bar to open the settings, select "My Account" and click on the "Logout icon" to log out of Discord first. If you do not log in to your account for a longer period of time now, it will automatically become inactive. For complete deletion, send an additional email to Discord support.
