Sky Q: WLAN setup - how it works

With Sky Q you not only get access to Sky programs, but also to all free TV channels and their media libraries. To use all the functions of Sky Q, however, an Interconnection is necessary. We show you here how to set this up via WLAN.

WLAN: How to set up an internet connection for Sky Q

In order to use all the features of Sky Q, it is necessary to set up an internet connection. If you are using Sky Q for the first time, you will be prompted to establish an Internet connection during the installation. You have the choice of setting up a WLAN connection via WPS, a password-protected WLAN connection or a connection via LAN cable. Select one of the methods and confirm your selection with "OK". Depending on which connection method you have chosen, you must now connect the LAN cable to the receiver or click on your WLAN network and enter the corresponding password.

Sky Q setup: How to set up a WLAN connection later

Although it is not recommended, you have the option to skip setting up an Internet connection during the initial installation of the receiver. To make up for the configuration of the Internet connection later, please proceed as follows:

1. First make sure on your Internet router that the WLAN function is switched on.
2. Then switch on the Sky-Q receiver as well as the TV set to which the receiver is connected and press the "Home button" on the Sky remote control.
3. Open the settings on the Sky-Q receiver and navigate therein to "Status" > "Network Connection".
4. Select a WLAN connection there and enter its password to connect the receiver to the Internet.
