Xbox One: WLAN setup - how it works
The Xbox One gives you a choice: You can either connect your game console to the router via network cable or wirelessly via WLAN. If you decide on the latter, you first have to set up the WLAN connection via the console's settings. However, this is only necessary once.
Xbox One: WLAN setup made easy
The Internet connection via WLAN is convenient, plus no cable disturbs the field of view. These advantages usually outweigh the theoretical disadvantages compared to the cable connection very clearly, because with a good router and a reliable Internet provider, there is also no noticeable difference in terms of speed, stability and bandwidth. However, before you can play online, you must first set up the WLAN connection on your Xbox One. This is done directly via the settings, if you have not already done so when setting up the console.- First press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide menu.
- Then select "Profile & System".
- Open "Settings" and then "General".
- There you will see the option "Network Settings".
- Select "Configure Wireless Network".
- Then select your WLAN network from the list.
- Enter the network key and confirm.
