Resetting Technicolor router - how to reset it

You can reset your Technicolor router if you are unhappy with your settings or the router is no longer working properly. You have two different ways to do this. Either press the button directly on the device or go into the router's settings.

How to reset your Technicolor router: reset button

The easiest way to reset your Technicolor router is to use the reset button on the device:
  1. Normally, the reset button is located on the back of the device. Depending on the model, it may be a haptically highlighted button or you may need to press the button in a small hole, such as with a bent-up paper clip.
  2. Hold down the reset button for at least five seconds. It may take a while until the router is subsequently accessible again.
  3. If the router is accessible again, log into the router menu under the IP address 192.168.0.1 and make the desired router settings.

Reset Technicolor Router via the menu

In some cases, it makes sense to reset the router via the menu - especially if you want to save your current settings on your computer before.
  1. Log into the web configuration of your router via the above IP address.
  2. Select the "System" tab and then click "Factory Default" under "Restore". This will reset the router. Confirm the process by clicking the button.
  3. If you would like to make a backup of the settings beforehand, click "Backup" in the "Restore" menu. Follow the further instructions.
