PS4 drive broken: How to fix it

Even though Sony's PlayStation 4 is a great console in many ways, some gamers also have to deal with errors. There are some problems with the PS4's drive, for example. Dust may have accumulated inside the console, for example.

PS4 drive defective: What error occurs?

A defect in the drive can have many reasons. Behind the error can be the software, but also dust in the drive or a hardware defect. If the drive simply ejects the disc or the console beeps constantly, then a hard reset is necessary.

1. To do this, press the power button until a second beep sounds.
2. After 30 seconds, disconnect the console from the power and wait about three to four minutes.
3. Then reconnect the PS4 and turn it on. Then download the latest firmware, if necessary.
4. Also clean the drive to free it from dust.
5. Alternatively, it may be that the drive is defective and must be replaced.

Dust in the drive, laser defective or simple wear

If there is no longer a warranty case, then you have other options to choose from.

3. Haben Sie technische Kenntnisse, dann können Sie die Reparatur auch selbst durchführen. In diesem Fall gehen Sie jedoch sehr vorsichtig vor, da Sie sonst weitere Schäden riskieren.
