Reduce photos in Windows 10 - how to do it

Windows is not known for its great photo editing tools. Windows 10 could change that reputation, however. The operating system already has some built-in tools that are quite useful when editing photos. For example, you can easily resize photos so that they are easier to send.

How to reduce the size of your pictures in Windows 10

If you want to reduce the size of photos in Windows 10, you can do so with several programs. If you only want to reduce the size of one image, Paint 3D is already sufficient. If it is a larger number of photos, it is recommended to download an additional software.

1. Make a right-click on the corresponding photo and select "Open with" and "Paint 3D".
2. Once Paint 3D has loaded the photo, click on "Drawing area" at the top of the bar and then on "Change drawing area size". Here you can now specify a new size in pixels or percentages.
3. When saving, you can press Ctrl + S to oversave the original image, or click "Menu" and select "Save As" to save a new copy of the photo.
4. To reduce many images at once, it is best to use IrfanView
5. Start the program and go to "File" and "Batch Processing".
6. Navigate to the photos and select them. Klicken Sie nun auf „Alle hinzufügen“.
7. Bei „Zielformat“ klicken Sie auf das Format, das das Foto bereits besitzt, und dann stellen Sie unter Optionen „Spezial-Optionen aktiv“ ein.
