Windows: Rename printers - this option is available

If you have several printers at your disposal, it makes sense to assign names to the devices. Most of the time, the default name does not directly identify which printer it is. Specific names can also be important if several people have access to the system.

How to rename your printers in Windows

If several people have access to your printers or you use several devices, it can be useful to change their default names. This way you can mark exactly where the printer is located or for what purpose it can be used.

1. First open the Control Panel of your operating system.
2. Then go to the option "Devices and Printers". In the icon view, this item is called "Printers and Scanners".
3. You will now see a list of all printers connected to your computer. Here, select a printer that you want to give a new name.
4. To do this, right-click on the device and then select the "Printer Properties".
5. In the "General" tab, you can now give the printer a new name.

7. Der Name des Druckers wird jetzt auch über das Netzwerk angezeigt.
