iPhone: Add music as ringtone - how to do it
Selecting your music as iPhone ringtone works in two different ways. You can either buy music or format a song as a ringtone via iTunes. However, the free way via iTunes is much more cumbersome.
Tone Store: Add music to iPhone as a ringtone
To use your own music as a ringtone for iPhone, it is best to use the Tone Store.- Open the settings on your iPhone.
- Under "Tones & Haptics" now open the "Ringtone" menu.
- Switch to "Tone Store" you can now buy music, which you can also set as a ringtone.
- Select for this in the menu "Ringtone > Load all purchased tones" and select the desired title.
Save music via iTunes as a ringtone
Alternatively, you can transfer tracks that you have stored on CD or on the hard drive in iTunes and then save as a ringtone.- Open iTunes and right-click the title that you want to bring as a ringtone on the iPhone.
- Select "Information > Options" and specify start and stop time. The ringtone may be a maximum of 30 seconds long.
- Save with "OK" and right-click the title.
- Navigate to "File > Convert > Create AAC Version".
- Now right-click "Copy" and copy the file to your desktop or a folder that you can easily find again.
