Android 9: Music as ringtone - how to set it

When you receive a call, the selected ringtone usually sounds. You can choose from smartphone ringtones or music from the Internet. If you do not like the ringtones, you also have the option to select a track of your own music as a ringtone.

How to set your music as ringtone on Android 9

If you want to set a specific music track instead of a normal ringtone, you can do it on Android 9. For this, you usually need an additional app, but you can find it for free in the Google Play Store. However, you can also use a music track with Google Play Music.

1. To do this, go to Google Play Music via your desktop PC and open your music library.
2. Click on "Track". Hover over a desired track and then click on the menu icon.
3. Here, select "Download".
4. Now you need to connect your device to the PC.
5. Go to your smartphone's folder and select "Ringtones".
6. Now drag the music file you downloaded earlier into the folder.
7. Auf dem Smartphone finden Sie den Titel unter „Einstellungen“ > „Töne und Benachrichtigungen“ > „Klingelton“.
8. Alternativ können Sie jeden Musiktitel im MP3-Format in den entsprechenden Ordner ziehen und anschließend als Klingelton verwenden.
