Lidl mobile abroad - what to consider when using it

Lidl mobile offers a wide range of mobile tariffs with which you can make cheap calls and surf the Internet. But is it possible to use a Lidl tariff when traveling abroad?

How to make calls abroad with Lidl mobile

If you have a SIM card from Lidl mobile in your smartphone, you can use it not only to make calls and surf the Internet within Germany. If the corresponding roaming function is activated, you can also use your Lidl tariff abroad.

1. To activate data roaming for your device, please open the Settings app on your smartphone and navigate to "Mobile network" > "Data roaming".
2. If you use a flat rate tariff or a tariff with inclusive units, such as Smart S or Smart L, you can also use it in other EU countries without incurring additional costs.
3. Have you used up your inclusive services, the EU prices of the Lidl Connect Classic tariff apply. If you call from an EU country to Germany or another EU country, 0.09 euros per minute will be due for this.
4. If you are in a non-EU country, however, are due for a phone call, depending on the country, between 1.29 euros and 2.99 euros per minute.

Lidl mobile: These other costs can arise

If you receive an SMS while abroad, this is basically free of charge for you with Lidl mobile. If you send messages to your friends or family in Germany, this will incur costs of between 0.09 euros and 0.49 euros outside of inclusive units and flat rates. If you surf the Internet outside the EU with your mobile data, between 17 and 99 cents per 50kB will be charged for this.
