Windows 10: Remove Tiles - how to delete rectangles
As soon as you open the Windows 10 Start menu by pressing the small Windows icon at the bottom left, you will see the apps in the right pane. However, since you won't need them in most cases, it is recommended to remove the tiles. This will make your Start menu clearer.
How can you remove tiles in Windows 10?
To remove the tiles, a few simple steps are necessary.- First, open the Start menu.
- Now make a right-click on each tile you want to remove and select "Detach from Start" in the menu.
- If you want to turn off the animation of the tile, it also goes in the menu under "More". Here you can go to "Disable Live Tile", and the tile will no longer apply animation.
- Have you removed enough tiles, you can reduce the size of the Start menu with the left mouse button. To do this, simply go to the edge of the Start menu and drag it back to the left side. If you have no more tiles, you can thus reduce the menu completely.
- You can also activate all tiles at once. However, to do this, you must have Windows 10 Pro or better. Press "Windows key + R" and enter "gpedit.msceeinben" in the Run window. Nach einem Klick auf „OK“ navigieren Sie zu „Benutzerkonfiguration“ > „Administrative Vorlagen“ > „Startmenü und Taskleiste“ > „Benachrichtigungen“.
- Klicken Sie nun noch auf „Kachelbenachrichtigungen deaktivieren“.
