Firefox: Change profile - how to use a different user

Firefox is one of the most widely used browsers, along with Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. It offers a wealth of settings in the process. You can save these in your profile and then use them in a Firefox browser on another device. To do this, you need to change the profile on the respective device.

How to change the profile in Firefox?

Firefox stores bookmarks and passwords in your profile. Only with the profile manager you can switch to another profile or create a new one.

1. Close Firefox and type "Run" in the search bar in the lower left corner afterwards. You can also use the shortcut "Windows key + R".
2. Enter "firefox.exe -p" and press "Ok" to start Firefox with the profile manager.
3. Under "Create Profile" you can create a new profile and also remove it under "Delete Profile".
4. Click on the profile you want to use in Firefox, and then continue to "Launch Firefox".
5. If you want to work with another profile again, simply perform the above steps again.
6. If you want to synchronize the profile with each device, you need to log in to the Firefox website. Ganz unten auf der Webseite finden Sie unter dem „Konto erstellen“-Button das Wort „Anmelden“.
7. Klicken Sie auf „Anmelden“ und erstellen Sie sich einen Account. Mit diesem können Sie sich in Ihrem Firefox Browser einloggen.
