Creating a form with Word: Easy thanks to templates

If you want to create a form with Word, the easiest way is to download a suitable template for free. Templates save you a lot of work, since a professional template already exists for practically every purpose. This also applies to forms.

Thanks to free templates, you can create Word forms quickly and easily.

Create form with Word: How it works

Our tip: If you want to create a form with Word, the most effective way is to customize an existing template. You can get this in the following way:
  1. Visit the official Office page of Microsoft, as there are numerous free templates there.
  2. To narrow down the selection appropriately, enter the term "forms" in the search box at the top.
  3. As a result, you will now see all templates that correspond to the principle of a form. For each form you will find the information about which Office program it is, so Word, Excel or PowerPoint.
  4. If you want to use one of these templates, open the detailed view and click on "Create" or "Download".

Create your own forms directly in Word

Alternatively, the creation of a form is also possible without a template directly in Word on your PC. To do this, open an empty Word document and activate "Design Mode" under "Developer Tools". Then navigate to "Controls" and select the appropriate ones for your form from the available tools. Finally, save the file, making sure to select "Word template" as the file type.
