Disable Instagram account - this option is available

On Instagram you can share photos with your followers on a daily basis. In addition, you have the option to record so-called Stories. These are short videos. However, if you want to switch to another social media platform, then you can deactivate your Instagram account at any time.

How to deactivate your account on Instagram

If you plan to switch from Instagram to another social media platform, then you usually do not need your Instagram account. If you do not want to use it anymore, then you have the option to temporarily deactivate your Instagram account or delete it completely. With a temporary deactivation, your photos will no longer be displayed visibly to other people, but they will not be deleted. As soon as you reactivate the account, they will be visible again.

1. Go to the Instagram website with a browser of your choice.
2. Then log in with your account data.
3. Switch to your profile via the button at the top right. Then click on the option "Edit profile".
4. Here you now have several choices. Um Ihren Account lediglich für eine bestimmte Zeit zu deaktivieren, klicken Sie auf „Mein Konto vorläufig deaktivieren“.
5. Anschließend werden Sie gebeten, einen Grund hierfür anzugeben.
6. Haben Sie eine Wahl getroffen, bestätigen Sie dies über „Konto vorübergehend deaktivieren“.
7. Sie werden nun automatisch aus Ihrem Instagram-Account ausgeloggt. Andere Personen können Ihr Profil nicht mehr sehen.
8. Möchten Sie den Account wieder aktivieren, müssen Sie sich lediglich erneut einloggen.
